Starting in Manchester on the 18th February and taking in a homecoming show at London’s Dingwalls on the 25th, the new set of dates will be Bain’s second headline tour; following her sold-out debut tour in October this year.Recorded during the summer of 2015 with George Daniel and Matthew Healy, Bain’s second ever release sees her build on from her debut EP, Pools To Bathe In; continuing to add flickered rhythmic guitar to brooding, melancholic electronica whilst pushing the parameters of alt-pop with her luscious, hazy and engulfing sound.

  • The Cookie Presents: MAN MADE + Guests 11/03/16

    MAN MADE £5 / 8pm / 14+ - The rising Manchester-based 3-piece Man Made will released their brand new single ‘TV Broke My Brain’ in September 2014, as well as performing at both the Reading / Leeds Festivals in August,on XFM Xposure showcase on September and out on tour with Jake Bugg in October. All the while playing their own 18 date Uk tour. Having quickly built up an impressive history for such a new band, Man Made have already found themselves sharing stages with the likes of Broken Social Scene, Bright Eyes, The Lemonheads and Badly Drawn Boy, as well as performing at Latitude festival. Owning an innate mastery of their instruments, the trio have an astonishing musical pallet with a natural knack for melody, never more evident than on the single ‘TV Broke My Brain’, an instantly likeable slice of indie-rock that shows the band pushing into exciting new frontiers. The band’s time spent in the Pacific North West, as well as their native Manchester, has also seen their influences widen to include American guitar bands from the Portland, Seattle, and Olympia scenes, as well as the rainy atmosphere of their hometown.

    DMU Music Society is back with something NEW! Originals is all about getting and encourging our members to start writing, composing and performing their own material. We have many members who have been writing their own material for years and occasionally playing their songs for us at our Weekly Open Mic/Meeting and it's beautiful! However, it's NOW time we started to share what we have with the public! So we introduced Originals, A showcase dedicated to the creativity we generate through sound! This Showcase also marks as DMU Music Society's Charity showcase; This Year we will be raising money for MIND. MIND raises public awareness and understanding of a plethora of issues relating to mental health such as Loneliness, OCD, Body Image, Self Harm, Insomnia, Sucide, Stress, and Anxieties; They are here to educate those who have mental health problems, sharing useful ways/tips to help them improve their lives for the better in the long term and to also inform Family, Friends and people within government and local authorities to be aware mental issues.
